THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD
Once all was in darkness
On this planet of ours
Until Jesus created
The sun, moon and stars.
He divided each day
Into daylight and night,
And provided all living things
With life-giving light.
So, too as a young man
I walked in the dark.
Blindly I struggled,
Oft missing the mark.
One day I decided
To alter my stance.
And so I repented
and gave Jesus a chance.
He dispelled the darkness
With that life-giving light,
Removing my blinders,
And restoring my sight.
So celebrate ye children
Let the flag be unfurled,
For Jesus has come
To be the Light of the world!
